The excitement in the air was thick, and almost made it hard to breathe, but, that could potentially be the plumes of tire smoke in the air! USDC at PBIR, the first drifting event in South Florida since the closing of Countyline Dragway.

Everyone wore huge smiles, gleaming toward a faint light of hope at the end of a perilous tunnel, and quite possibly a new branch in our little drift community. A special thanks goes out to Chris Jackson of US Drift Circuit, as he and his team did a fantastic job of securing this spot and raising awareness of the event.

The driver list for the event took a little time to full, which was a bit odd, to me at the very least, especially coming from a scene that hasn’t had the opportunity to get in some sliding in months. Perhaps it was the fact that this event was on a Friday night, and probably presented some scheduling conflicts for some of the drivers. Or, perhaps it was the location? The majority of South Floridian drifters live upwards of 2 hours away from Palm Beach International Raceway, Nonetheless, the turn out, and likewise the event, was great!
