And the summer drift party continues. Formula Drift Jersey was just last weekend and we set our sights on Ready Set Drifts Lima Rock Park 2 day Independence Day drift party! I spent the majority of my week obsessively checking the weather. The weather channel played with my emotions by changing it from rainy to sunny to rainy then back to sunny. After a very wet Formula Drift Jersey I was really hoping to get some nice sun in. But alas it rained, not torrential but that kind of rain that doesn’t seem to want to make up its mind.
We decided to head out on the 4 waking up early to start our pilgrimage to Connecticut about a 2.5 hour drive north from Brooklyn. It wasn’t raining yet but it was gray and gross, as we drove up the New York city peninsula. The scenery quickly turned from the harsh beat up streets of downtown to a lush green haven. As we approached Lime Rock Park we were met the sweet sounds of the track. Driving though the entrance and over a wooden bridge with racing cars underneath we saw the giant oval track that was to be called home for this event.
The track was perfect with the right amount of curves and elevation to keep things interesting. Cars lined up around the tracks edge waiting to take it on. We met up with Michael Lukaszewicz, the man behind RSD, near the RSD apparel tent to get the breakdown before going on track to set up shop.
