Another Ready Set Drift event, and the gracious Yin and Mike at CNTRL offered a ride along. We set out early in the day in mikes G35 coupe all the way up to Connecticut. This time thankfully no rain, though we did get some pretty interesting shots last time. The day started off great with a large turn out and the usual suspects from @dailyscraping back at it again.
The event started off like any good drift party with a nice dose of sunshine and tire smoke in this small but tight circle of people. The Lime Rock Events that RSD put on are some of the better organized event we have been to, and the track gives you a feel that is very intimate with a skid pad for practice, autocross track where the main event is held, and a large oval track the circles the whole area, where you can see Ferraris and other speed demons wiz by.
The vibe at the RSD event are definitely more chill then what i’ve experienced at Club Looses events in Jersey where you get high profile driver that come through on the regular, which also makes the events a bit stand offish. The atmosphere here definitely feels more open especially to “noobs” and curious spectator that just happened to be in the area. A real family vibe. It was also fun to see SNTRL repping driver Darren, @phoshizzl3 on instagram, bring out his anime boo to whip around the track. I feel like it pretty rare to see cars that not only can pass as “show cars” but are also used on the track. His attention to detail not only is on the outside but also in the interior: with one-of-a-kind jdm goodies galore that can be found if you take a little time to look. These unicorns are always fun to come by.
