Mr. Randy Medina, this (fvckin’) guy decides to break the mold of drift cars, granted anything other than a 240SX would do this (I kid). He has been showing his face within the SFLDrifters scene for a while, and took up the reins of a Fox Body Ford Mustang 5.0 coupe. Yes! As most Americana purists are about to raise their fists in pride for this awesome 80’s gem, Randy decides to pull the rug out from under them. His choice to shake the naturally aspirated Ford 302 V8 for a single turbo Nissan Skyline’s inline six RB25 might leave a sour taste in some peoples mouths, but this behavior is quite common if you know Randy.
His love and passion for motor sports developed from his father’s love of old American Muscle. Before getting into drifting, Randy got his start in the drag racing scene. His car of choice was of course another Ford Fox body, modified to break those rear tires loose and go straight. He left the engine of his drag car “ford tough” with some rad upgrades to make the competition scared when taken names down the quarter mile!
It’s awesome to see this coming from someone who is part of the younger generation of the SFLdrifters. This scene needs good characters like him, as we’re still rebuilding our foundation from our recently lost home track, the Countyline Dragway. Randy is an all around good guy and friend, never hesitating to play the role of student vs teacher and always has something interesting to say or contribute. This is a great development for us and I believe that he we will be one of the prominent movers and shakers in the SFL drifters scene!
